To the Reader from the Author:
“Buttons” began as a lark. My wife made a remark about her small Teddy Bear, and it brought out the little boy in me. As I began writing about this little Teddy Bear, he suddenly became alive in my mind.
“Buttons” became in my mind like a small child. Through me, he developed the ability to see, hear, smell, and feel. He felt alive to me. My wife and I adopted him as our own. He has traveled with us down difficult paths. During my wife’s illness he was there giving her comfort as no human could. He has traveled with us to hospitals, sick beds, and family vacations. He has shared in our joys and pain. He is our friend and family member.
We love him for his faithfulness and quiet unconditional love. We believe everyone young or old needs the love and the comfort only a Teddy Bear can give. This book is Buttons own story. |
