PREFACE

Exchanging recipes has long been a tradition of good cooks. The recipes in this book have been exchanged by many good cooks who frequented the Beauty Nook beauty salon in Reynolds, Georgia for many years.

The fact that these are home recipes used by good cooks of the south gives the book an additional value. If you are entertaining a large group or feeding the family on a typical day, you will find this book has everything you need to serve a delightful meal.

Willorene Morrow

Southern Bell ~ Southern Business Leader ~ Southern Lady

Willorene Morrow is National Sales Director for Primerica, a Mother, Grandmother and by all accounts, a really good cook. Perfection has always been her demand, starting first in cosmetology school, then owning and operating an upscale beauty salon, “The Beauty Nook” for 22 years in Reynolds, Georgia. Many customers shared her love of cooking and often exchanged recipes. In 1980, while recuperating from back surgery, she compiled all of these recipes and published her first cookbook, Southern Favorite Recipes, which had sales of over 40,000 copies. Later that year, she made a big decision and went full time with A.L. Williams which became the new corporation, Primerica, now listed on the New York Stock Exchange. During her successful 30-plus year career with Primerica she has collected and taste-tested many more great recipes from clients she has advised financially. Friends and colleagues encouraged her to write another cookbook and this beautiful hardback edition of Southern Favorite Recipes, Volume II is that book, including all the recipes of the first edition as well as over 200 more…Enjoy!

A native of Reynolds, Georgia, Willorene Morrow currently resides in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Northeast of Atlanta.

Title of the Month
Ray Stevens' Nashville
Ray Stevens’ Nashville is the story of a Nashville legend who has seen many changes during the last fifty plus years. Ray takes us along on his American Dream journey from the little mill town of Clarksdale, Georgia, where he was born, through his school days in south Georgia, to his early recording experience with friends like Jerry Reed and Joe South in Atlanta under the tutelage of Bill Lowery. Then, on to Nashville– Music City USA–where he established himself as not only a world famous recording artist but, as one Nashville star recently said, as “The most talented man on Music Row.”
